About the Reiki Session
Before
- Health Overview: You may fill out a short intake form or share health history, including past injuries, conditions, or areas to avoid.
- Discussing Goals: Share any physical discomfort, emotional concerns, or objectives like relaxation, pain relief, or emotional balance.
- Consent & Expectations: The practitioner goes over intake form and explains the process, techniques like light touch or energy work, and addresses your preferences or questions.
- Centering: Practitioners often start with a brief meditative process to focus energy and create a balanced space.
DUring
- Comfortable Setting: Sessions take place in a tranquil environment, often with soft music, dim lighting, or soothing aromatherapy to encourage relaxation.
- Positioning: Clients stay fully clothed and are usually lying on a massage table or seated in a supportive chair.
- Non-Invasive: Sessions typically last 45 to 60 minutes. You remain fully clothed while a practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above specific areas of the body, from head to toe for several minutes at a time
- Sensations: Most common sensations are deep relaxation, a sense of calm, and sometimes physical feelings of warmth, coolness, or tingling from the practitioner's hands. You may feel warmth, tingling, or gentle pulsing. Some people fall asleep and others may see colors or images like in a dream, though some feel nothing at all while still receiving benefits.
After
- Hydrate: Drink plenty of water (at least 6–8 glasses) to help flush out toxins released during the session and maintain energy flow.
- Sensations: Most people feel calm, refreshed, and deeply relaxed after a session. You should take some time to sit up slowly and sip water before leaving the treatment space
Rest: Allow time for deep, restorative rest without screens or external stimulation. you may feel relaxed, peaceful, or slightly tired. A common “healing crisis” may cause temporary symptoms like headaches, emotional releases, or detox effects (more urination or sweating) as your energy realigns.
- Move Slowly: Transition back to daily life gradually. Drink plenty of water to help your body continue its natural cleansing process.
