FAQ's and Tips

Frequently asked questions

How should I prepare for my Reiki or energy healing session?

There is no special preparation needed, other than wearing loose comfortable clothes to ensure you can relax fully during the session. It may be helpful to use the restroom before the session and remove uncomfortable articles like shoes, belts, and jewelry.  Communicate with your practitioner before the session. Mention any discomfort or specific needs, like minimal touch, extra pillows, or a weighted blanket to feel safe and supported.

What sensations will I feel during energy work?

Experiences varies, but it is common to feel warmth, gentle tingling, or a sense of lightness. You may enter a deep meditative state or even fall asleep—both are normal signs that your body is shifting into a "rest and digest" state. Trust that you will receive exactly what you need in the moment.

Do I need to do anything specific during the treatment?

The best approach is to let go of expectations and allow the energy to flow naturally. If recurrent thoughts arise, gently acknowledge them and return your focus to your breath. Try to avoid caffeine or heavy meals immediately before your appointment to keep your nervous system calm.

How many sessions do I need?

The number of sessions depends on your individual goals and health. For acute issues, a few sessions might be enough, while chronic conditions may require more frequent, ongoing treatment. For lasting results, 3 to 6 sessions is optimal.

Can it replace medical treatment?

Reiki is a complementary therapy designed to enhance medical and psychological treatments, rather than serve as a substitute. Always consult your doctor regarding any medical conditions.

Can Reiki be done remotely?

Distance healing is thought to be equally effective as in-person sessions. During a scheduled time, the practitioner connects with the client, allowing energy to be transmitted across any distance.

Are there any side effects?

Reiki is generally free from adverse side effects. However, some individuals may notice mild "detox" symptoms, such as headaches, fatigue, or emotional releases, as their bodies adjust to the process.

Is Reiki a religion?

No, it is not a religion and has no affiliation with any specific belief system or deity.

Do I need to believe in it for it to work?

No, belief is not a requirement for Reiki to be effective. Nevertheless, approaching the experience with an open mind can enhance its benefits.

Does insurance cover it?

Many insurers do not cover treatment costs, but some do if recommended by a doctor or provided in a hospital setting.

How do I pay for my session?

We kindly ask that you make your payment through Zelle, preferably before your session.

What is your cancellation policy?

To receive a full refund, please cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment will result in a $50 fee.
